A Message from your RTB President
Happy Summer RTB Members!!
Well, it has been a real long road, but we are starting to see the return of in person events post-pandemic! RTB AALAS is starting with our famous RTB AALAS Golf and Cornhole Tournaments in September – You read that right – it’s back for 2021! Is anyone interested in helping coordinate the cornhole game or have a set of boards we can borrow for the day? Please let us know.
A big shoutout to our three fantastic speakers at Tech Night – and to those who attended our live virtual event. Congrats to our door prize winners too! If you won one of the $20 gift cards and didn’t receive it, please let us know.
A recording of the event is available by request if you’re interested in the following topics:
"Can Essential Oils Help Decrease Aberrant Behaviors in Rhesus Macaques?" by Bonnie Bowell
"Hot Pursuit- A Monkey's Eyes Never Lie" by Stefanie Tokiyama
"Drip, Drop, How do I Make it Stop? Leaky Lixits and Flooded Cages" by Lisa Webb
Please take a few minutes to vote in the National AALAS Election if you are a member! Speaking of elections – We will need nominees for President Elect for 2022. This is a three-year term, starting with President Elect (Year 1), President (Year 2), Past President (Year 3). No experience on the Executive Board is required, since the first year is a training year, so if you think you might be interested now or in the future, please reach out to me! Other options for involvement are on our committees, so if you’d like to learn more about RTB and help plan some events let us know!
Last but certainly not least, we have added two dates for upcoming Carolina Tiger Rescue work days with behind the scenes tours in November. If you’ve never been with us before, it’s quite the experience! Come ready to work hard, but also see some really cool cats up close and personal. Registration will be available to members only on the RTB website. If you’ve got friends who want to join, now is the time to get in on these exciting events!
Looking forward to seeing you all in person again soon! Thanks for sticking with us!
Emily
